Bernalillo County officials break ground on juvenile jail’s new garden

BERNALILLO COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – Construction is underway at Bernalillo County’s juvenile jail on a garden some hope will get kids back on track.
In 2014, “La Concina Verde” was created within the secured perimeter of the jail to teach students how to farm.
On Wednesday, construction began on a second “Hoop Garden” greenhouse outside the jail. It allows students who have been released but still have to report to programs there to “keep farming.”
