Arrests made in Albuquerque native’s murder in Arizona

SURPRISE, AZ (KRQE) – Police in Arizona have arrested two men, accused of killing an Albuquerque native and her friend, at the friend’s home in Surprise.
Ruth Schwed, 75, was visiting Barbara Leslie, 70, when they both were killed. They were found shot to death on February 9th. Surprise police believe the women were victims of a home invasion.
Leslie’s car had been stolen and was found later at a Phoenix-area apartment complex, about 40 minutes away from the crime scene.
