APD officer delivers baby on interstate

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – When a woman went into labor while driving down I-25, the Albuquerque Police Department came to her aid.
When police arrived they say it was clear the woman was not going to make it to the hospital.
APD Lieutenant Ferris Simmons went from cop to midwife in a matter of seconds, delivering the baby on the side of the freeway.
Simmons says the woman and her baby boy are both healthy and doing well.
