APD: Elderly driver hits child in drive-thru

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Panic in a Northeast Heights parking lot lasted hours after a driver going through a Chick-Fil-A drive-thru hit a child.
Albuquerque Police said an elderly man in the drive-thru near Montgomery and San Mateo accidentally pressed the gas instead of the brake around 4:30 p.m. Friday, hitting a small child and knocking over a light pole and a tree.
Police blocked off access to that area of the shopping center for several hours.
