Albuquerque man recognized after saving man from house fire

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE)- A transit department employee is being hailed a hero after he saved a man from a fire.Back in August Javier Escalante was driving through a neighborhood near Blake and Isleta on his day off when he noticed smoke pouring out of a home’s roof.Escalante pulled over and found a woman who told him her mother and brother were still inside the house.He rushed inside and was able to pull the man to safety.Friday, the mayor recognized Escalante as the week’s city of Albuqu
