Albuquerque International Balloon Museum opens new viewing area

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The Albuquerque International Balloon Museum unveiled a new open-air observation and seating gallery Saturday.
The outdoor seating and community gathering space is called “Earth and Sky.”
The space is unique because it has rammed-earth chairs made from local subsoil.Simply put, soil is rammed into a reusable form, then flipped into its final position. The chairs were designed by a team of University of New Mexico students learning about the technique.
