Albuquerque cuts pool fees, turns on park sprinklers for "Operation Cooldown"

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – The city of Albuquerque is taking cooling measure to the next level over what's anticipated to be another hot summer weekend. Calling it "Operation Cooldown," the city is launching a three phase effort focused on bringing more families to pools, splash pads and city parks.At splash pads, the city will be extending the hours of operation later into the evening. On Saturday and Sunday, the Wells Park and Cesar Chavez splash pads will stay open from 12:00 p.m.
