Albuquerque BioPark celebrates Orangutan Day

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE)–Saturday was Orangutan Day at the BioPark where visitors had a chance to learn about the natural history of the great apes.
Orangutans are native to tropical rain forests and zoo keepers were there to teach the public about how they can help conservation efforts.
Orangutans face threats in their environment due to poaching and habitat loss from palm oil production.
Saturday’s activities included education stations, a keeper talk, and arts and crafts.
