Accused cop killer in court for assaulting MDC guard

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The man accused of gunning down Rio Rancho Officer Gregg “Nigel” Benner is on trial Thursday for assaulting a jail guard after his murder arrest.
This case went to trial just months after it happened. Opening statements got underway this morning in district court.
