AAA: Millions plan to travel over long Memorial Day weekend

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Memorial Day weekend is a time to remember the troops who served and sacrificed everything for our country.
But the unofficial start of summer also means huge consumer spending.
AAA says more than 38 million people plan to travel over the long weekend. The U.S. Travel Association says Americans will spend $12 billion on trips. That’s just over $300 each.
And with the TSA backups around the country, many people are hitting the road.
