4 Our Kids: Economic growth leads to decrease in child abuse

If Albuquerque had a cousin, it would be El Paso, Texas. Since 2006, the population in El Paso has grown, and so have household incomes. With that, something incredible happened. Sex crimes against children dropped by 30 percent, child abuse dropped by 48 percent, child neglect cases dropped by 58 percent, and kidnapping cases dropped by 41 percent. With El Paso reaping the benefits of a growing economy, why can’t Albuquerque?
