Minor flooding expected in Nikolai

A flood advisory in in effect for the south fork of the Kuskokwim River near Nikolai until 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, July 6. (Image via Google Maps)A flood advisory is in effect along the Kuskokwim River near Nikolai through early Wednesday afternoon.
According to the National Weather Service, high rainfall in the area has caused the south fork of the Kuskokwim River to rise 6 feet over the past few days.
The river is expected to continue to rise slowly or remain nearly steady until about 12:45 p.m.
