Medfra Fire grows to 1,650 acres overnight

Crews are battling a large blaze about 50 miles southeast of McGrath, dubbed the Medfra Fire.
The fire was reported to be around an acre late Sunday morning, but according to KTUU-TV, grew to 1,650 acres overnight.
A release by the Alaska Division of Forestry says the fire sparked in an old burn area, and spread into an unburned area with fresh fuel.
