Wind Tre starts operations in Italy

(Telecompaper) The new company Wind Tre has started operations in Italy, following the merger of Vimpelcom's Wind with Hutchison's 3 Italia. The company becomes the biggest mobile operator in Italy with over 31 million customers, as well as 2.7 million fixed clients. Wind CEO Maximo Ibarra will lead the merger group and the planned investment in the company's networks to accelerate its offer of fixed-mobile plans and high-speed broadband.
