Vodafone Australia to shut down 2G network in Sept 2017

(Telecompaper) Vodafone Australia announced plans to shut down its GSM network on 30 September 2017. It is the last of the three operators to announce the planned 2G closure, with Telstra shutting down its network at the end of this year and Optus next year. Vodafone said the 2G network carries less than 1 percent of its data traffic and only 2 percent of voice traffic.
