Microsoft sales get boost from LinkedIn takeover

(Telecompaper) Microsoft reported revenue of USD 24.09 billion for its fiscal second quarter to December, as the takeover of LinkedIn and strong growth in cloud services such as Azure helped offset lower Xbox and phone sales and negative currency effects. Operating profit increased 3 percent to USD 6.18 billion, and net profit rose 4 percent to USD 5.20 billion. Adjusted EPS was up 9 percent to USD 0.83.
