Microsoft grows quarterly profit 28% on cloud expansion

(Telecompaper) Microsoft reported net profit for its fiscal third quarter to March up 28 percent year-on-year to USD 4.80 billion or USD 0.61 per share. Revenues increased 8 percent to USD 22.10 billion, and operating profit improved 6 percent to USD 5.59 billion. The takeover of Linked contributed around USD 1 billion in revenues and a USD 0.4 billion operating loss.
