LG Electronics more than doubles Q2 operating profit

(Telecompaper) LG Electronics announced preliminary results for the second quarter showing revenues up 0.5 percent year-on-year to KRW 14 trillion. The company's operating profit jumped to KRW 584.6 billion from KRW 244.1 billion a year ago. Results were also up compared to the first quarter, with sales up 4.8 percent and operating profit 15.7 percent. The full results will be announced later this month.
