Google ends modular phone project

(Telecompaper) Google has put a halt to its Ara modular phones project, as part of a broader push to streamline the company's hardware efforts, Reuters reported, citing sources with knowledge of the matter said. The company announced only in May that it planned to release modular phones for developers this year and to consumers in 2017. Google declined to comment on the matter.
