Cavium, Qualcomm show ARM-based SoCs for Microsoft servers

(Telecompaper) Microsoft announced at the Open Compute Summit that it's working with Qualcomm and Cavium Networks to develop new ways to run its Azure services in the cloud. Both Qualcomm and Cavium have developed ARM-based chips for servers to run the Microsoft Azure cloud platform. These are based on the latest version of Microsoft's Project Olympus, an open-source design for a new generation of servers.
