CA gives Jamii Telecom 4G licence without auction

(Telecompaper) The Kenyan government could lose KES 5.2 billion after the Communications Authority (CA) granted Jamii Telecom a licence to operate another mobile phone service, reports the Daily Nation. Operators have written to CA director-general Francis Wangusi to protest against the decision, and questioning why the licence for the 700 MHz frequency was not auctioned, as is common practice.
