Bell gets MTS takeover approval after selling mobile assets
(Telecompaper) Canadian operator BCE has received regulatory approval to acquire the Manitoba regional operator MTS, after agreeing to divest some of MTS's assets to rivals. The broadband provider Xplornet Communications has agreed to acquire 40 MHz of spectrum from MTS. Bell/MTS will provide network roaming for up to three years, and once Xplornet's network is up and running, it will take over 24,700 customers and six shops from MTS as well.
