Stocks buoyed by US trade, rate hopes

Stock markets rose Monday, building on strong pre-weekend gains, after US President Donald Trump dropped threatened tariffs against Mexico and weak US jobs data fanned expectations the Federal Reserve will cut interest rates next month.
