Aireon signs with Russian groups to study space-based air traffic surveillance in Russian airspace

Top Priority Sector: airport_aviation_securityMCLEAN, VA June 20, 2016 Aireon LLC has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with two leading Russian organizations, JSC AZIMUT and JSC INFOCOM-Avia, to evaluate the benefits of deploying space-based Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) in Russian Federation airspace. Analyses will be performed on how space-based ADS-B will enhance air traffic monitoring, support air traffic management and improve airline and airport operations.H
