Dementia Risk Rises If You Live with Chronic Pain, Study Finds
Source: CNN - HealthChronic pain lasting for over three months—such as back pain from arthritis or cancer—raises the risk of cognitive decline and dementia, a new study found. When pain was felt in two places in the body, the hippocampus shrank even more—the equivalent of just over two years of aging, according to the study, which analyzed data from over 19,000 people and was published Monday in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, or PNAS.
