Ohio Sheriff's Sergeant Killed in Accidental Shooting

Sgt. Alvin Adams of the Wood County (OH) Sheriff’s Office died Saturday morning after an apparent accidental discharge of his personal weapon, according to Sheriff Mark Wasylyshyn.Adams, 56, worked as a jail sergeant at the Wood County Justice Center and has been part of the force for at least 12 years, Wasylyshyn said Saturday afternoon.The accidental gunshot took place outside at Adams’ home in Grand Rapids.
