Criminal procedure — one act, one crime doctrine

Where a defendant grabs a victim on a public way, and then drags the victim off with the intent of secretly confining him, the defendant has committed two separate acts, battery and kidnapping, neither of which is negated by the one-act, one-crime doctrine.
