Uzbekistan's longtime ruler Islam Karimov hospitalized

MOSCOW (AP) — Uzbekistan's government issued an unusual statement Sunday announcing the hospitalization of President Islam Karimov, who has ruled the former Soviet republic in Central Asia for more than 25 years.
