US Republicans aim to roll back Obama emissions rules

With a global climate deal under negotiation in Paris, the Republican-led US Congress on Tuesday is expected to repeal White House regulations on reducing greenhouse gas emissions, a move certain to spark President Barack Obama's veto. Votes to block a pair of Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rules that limited carbon dioxide emissions from existing and new US power plants were due in the House of Representatives, after the measures passed the Senate last month.
