US education official apologizes for poor judgment, behavior

WASHINGTON (AP) — A senior Education Department official is apologizing for poor judgment and "unacceptable" behavior. The department's inspector general concluded he was working on his side businesses with subordinates, failed to pay taxes on his profits and awarded a government contract to a friend's company.
