Stamkos out indefinitely with knee injury

Tampa Bay Lightning top scorer and captain Steven Stamkos faces an injury layoff after suffering a torn meniscus in his right knee against the Detroit Red Wings, the team confirmed Wednesday. Lightning general manager Steve Yzerman said the NHL team is not putting a timeline on his return because they are evaluating different treatment options. Canada's Stamkos did not travel with the team to Buffalo for Thursday's game against the Sabres and has returned to Tampa for treatment.
