Russia sends dissident to remote Arctic military base
Russia has sent an opposition activist to serve at a top secret military base in the Arctic in a move with echoes of the Tsarist era. Ruslan Shaveddinov, a 23-year-old ally of opposition leader Alexei Navalny, had been appealing his military conscription when he disappeared on Monday after police broke into his flat and took him in for questioning.
