'Miss Peregrine' bests 'Deepwater Horizon' at box office

NEW YORK (AP) — Tim Burton's latest fantastical oddity, "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children," debuted with a hefty $28.5 million, while Peter Berg's acclaimed disaster movie "Deepwater Horizon," about the 2010 oil rig explosion, failed to tap North American moviegoers.
