Illinois Senate leader suggests bucking governor on budget

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) — The Democratic-controlled Illinois Legislature "doesn't need the governor" to enact an elusive budget deal to end a two-year impasse, the Senate president said Friday ahead of a special session.
