Broncos defender investigated over child abuse: reports

Denver Broncos defensive end Antonio Smith is being investigated for alleged child abuse by authorities in Texas, celebrity website TMZ and the Denver Post reported Thursday. Smith, 33, signed a one-year National Football League contract worth $2 million with the Broncos last month. Smith, who was named to the Pro Bowl all-star game in 2011, is familiar with changes to the Denver defensive system being made by a new coaching staff and has 44 sacks in 155 career NFL games.
