Worker died under two tonnes of soil in trench collapse

Two construction companies and a contracts manager have been sentenced following the death of a labourer who died on a site in Banstead, Surrey.
Gheorghita Arsene, 33, died in in June 2020 when a 10ft deep trench collapsed on top of him, covering him in two tonnes of soil soil. He had been working on a site where an old care home was being demolished to make way for a new purpose-built home.
