Work begins on first £5bn Project Gigabit major hook-up

The Government has signed off on the first major contract under £5bn Project Gigabit – the biggest broadband roll out in British history.
The signing of a £6m contract with Wessex Internet will see rural towns, villages and hamlets across the region from Sherborne to Verwood and Shaftesbury to Blandford Forum hooked up to super-fast broadband.
