VolkerWessels UK cracks 4% margin milestone

VolkerWessels UK has delivered one of its strongest profit performances in recent years after a disciplined focus on higher-margin work lifted returns despite virtually flat turnover.
The infrastructure group, whose UK businesses include VolkerFitzpatrick, VolkerRail, VolkerStevin, VolkerHighways and VolkerLaser, saw pre-tax profit surge 47% to £70.5m as revenue remained flat at £1.49bn.
