Van Elle finds buyer for loss-making Canadian arm

Piling specialist Van Elle has struck a deal to offload its Canadian business just two years after entering the market, in a move that draws a line under mounting losses while keeping a technical foothold in North America.
The ground engineering specialist has agreed to sell the entire share capital and assets of Van Elle Canada Inc for £2.6m to a special-purpose vehicle backed by leading Canadian rail contractor Remcan Projects. Completion is expected around 17 December.
