Ofwat approves start on 10 urgent storm overflow jobs

Water regulator Ofwat has given the all-clear for water companies to bring forward work starts on 33 infrastructure schemes, worth £2.2bn, in the next two financial years.
The total potential costs of the accelerated projects have increased from £1.6bn to £2.2bn since first being proposed to combat more extreme weather.
The increase is mainly driven by two United Utilities schemes to accelerate storm overflow improvements.Projects given the green light include:
