East West Rail alliance lined up for £650m extension

Network Rail is lining up £650m of extra work for its East West Rail alliance to boost capacity and help handle demand from the planned Universal theme park near Bedford.
Laing O’Rourke, VolkerRail and AtkinsRéalis are set to land the design and construction package without a fresh competition, extending their existing Marston Vale Line works.
The proposed deal covers upgrades between Bletchley and Stewartby, the Oxford Parkway to Bletchley route and work at Milton Keynes Cent
