Decision on Costain’s A1 dualling job delayed for third time
The Government has delayed for a third time the decision on the final go-ahead for the dualling of a 13-mile stretch of the A1 between Morpeth and Ellingham in Northumberland.
Main contractor Costain has been waiting for the green light on the £260m project since January 2022.
The go-ahead was first delayed to June, and then postponed further until this month.
