Costain’s planned M6 link road job halted over costs

Plans to build a new road linking the M6 with south Lancaster have been shelved due to soaring cost pressures.
The decision is a major setback for Costain, which was appointed last March to deliver detailed design and stakeholder engagement, as well as the construction work, once planning approval was in place.
This decision to suspend further work on the plans follows extensive talks between stakeholders Lancashire County Council, Lancaster City Council, Homes England, and Costain.
Funding for
