Costain bridge lift delayed by ground conditions

National Highways has postponed a bridge lift planned for this weekend on a major road improvement job in west Cornwall due to unsuitable ground conditions.
Main contractor Costain was due to oversee the lifting of a new bridge at Tolgroggan as part of its £330m A30 Chiverton to Carland Cross scheme.
Neil Winter, National Highways’ senior project manager for the scheme, told Cornwall Live: “Our contractors have detected unsuitable ground conditions for the crane deployment, and
