Contractors call for PIR board ban on internal ductwork
Insulation contractors are calling for an immediate ban on Polyisocyanurate (PIR) based insulation being used in internal ductwork applications on safety grounds.
Rigid PIR foam insulation is commonly used on external ductwork. But the Thermal Insulation Contractors Association is warning that PIR is also combustible and can pose a danger when used on internally located ductwork.
