Contractors call for ban on indoor use of PIR board
Insulation contractor are calling for an immediate ban on Polyisocyanurate (PIR) based insulations being used in internal applications on safety grounds.
Rigid PIR foam insulation is commonly used on external ductwork. But the Thermal Insulation Contractors Association is warning that PIR is also combustible and can pose a danger when used internally.
