Construction labour rates hit record high

Average earnings for self-employed tradespeople rose to an all-time high of £1,110 per week during August.
Latest research from the industry’s largest payroll firm Hudson Contract said this represents a 3.1% increase on July rates and 4.5% on the same month last year.
