Barratt Redrow hit by fresh £97m legacy building defects bill

Barratt Redrow has revealed another £97m hit from legacy building defects in its latest annual accounts, leaving the house building giant with a £1.1bn remediation provision.
The group booked £103m of additional building safety costs during the year to June 2026, including £42m of general cost increases and £61m relating to two developments.
One involves four buildings completed in 2002 in its Southern region, where further fire safety defects have been identified.
