A46 Newark Bypass job returns to market at £700m

National Highways has reopened market talks for the A46 Newark Bypass with the replacement design and build plan now carrying an estimated £700m price tag.
The move comes less than three months after National Highways cancelled Skanska’s £297m contract for the 6.5km dualling scheme around Newark-on-Trent.
Skanska secured the job through the Regional Delivery Partnership framework in 2022 and had taken the scheme through design and planning.
