Sackler Name Removed from Serpentine Galleries Building in London

The Serpentine Galleries is the latest institution to strip the Sackler name from its building. Last spring the institution, which maintains two spaces in central London capital, quietly wiped the family from its online exhibition archive and rebranded its second location—formerly known as the Serpentine Sackler Gallery—as the Serpentine North Gallery, the Art Newspaper reports. However, the Sackler name remained displayed on the gallery’s façade until this year.
